The withered yet animate husk of what might once have been a raven alighted on a lamp post outside the entrance to the Grim garrison. It clutched in its cracked beak a scroll tightly rolled and bound with dark leather cord. After folding up its ragged wings, the creature sat, unbreathing and all but motionless, only periodically angling its head as it watched and waited.

Upon spotting an approaching member of the Inquisition, the bird slipped from its perch and landed on the path before them. With a certain unexpected stateliness that death itself had seemed unable to extinguish, the bird bowed slightly, stretched out its neck, and presented the scroll.
Grim,

Even now, as the Burning Legion relentlessly pursues our world’s conquest from far beyond in the Nether, a sickness is spreading here in Azeroth. Even now, as our people must stand strong and with singular purpose against the coming storm, a disease weakens the heart and clouds the mind of our great civilization. Even now, as the Horde looks ahead to the horizon for the Legion’s next advance, the malignancy of the Alliance encroaches all around us.

In these dark times when it seems even a whisper’s breath could blow out forever the flickering prospect of peace, we can afford no half-measures, no hesitation, no compromise. The sole terms of negotiation with the Alliance must be their complete and total annihilation, for them and for all who spread their perverse ideology under any banner. Only after the last tongue that speaks of mercy is silenced can Azeroth begin to know peace. Peace through annihilation.

Seeing the Inquisitor’s eyes come up from the parchment, the rotted raven made a little hop forward and gave a grating caw, as if expecting a response.
