Letters from Kerala

A rather plain stack of envelopes arrives for The Grim. One is addressed to Awatu in large capital letters, and three others are marked for Khorvis, Lilliana, and Ruuki. They all contain a similar message, though the three letters are slightly longer. All are written in a large and childish script, Kerala's own.

Too The Grim,

Akalya has bin kild, the time has kom too make paymente for Blood Revenge. I hav riten to Awatu, and I send this az wel, to yoo. Pleze tel me wen and ware I shood bring yoor suplikant?

Promises #1 - Kerala's letter to Awatu.
Promises #11 & 13- Awatu's counter, and Kerala's response
Lost #4- Lomani's explanation of Blood Revenge roots to Breygrah
and maybe Lost #10- Lomani uses the Blood Debt to get the Grim's help for Kerala, and guarantees payment to Awatu if the druid lives.))

Syreena scowled at the note. Her distaste was not at the poor spelling, because she spelled worse than that when she first came to The Grim, before Grolish taught her to read and write.

"I wonder who she's sending to replace Konro," the little rogue muttered to Ber. Anyone she could have guessed would have been better than the truth.

Meet this evening.

Or as soon as you are able.

We will discuss your payment then.

Awatu, The Commander

Logging started on 05/08/2015 at 20:03:31.
Kerala-Ravenholdt looks around.
Awatu-TwistingNether appears distracted, reading over maps and battle plans. He does not appear to notice the approaching sound of hooves.
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: Awatu? ....sir?
Awatu-TwistingNether turns at the unfamiliar voice.
Awatu-TwistingNether looks at you.
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: Ah, yes. You. Chieftain of the Horns.
You nod at Awatu-TwistingNether.
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: Kerala.
Awatu-TwistingNether nods, satisfied. "Well met, Kerala. My message appears to have arrived as scheduled."
Awatu-TwistingNether turns and nods at the Arrakoa, dismissing him.
Kerala-Ravenholdt crosses her arms. "I suppose."
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: Very well. What is your offer of payment?
Kerala-Ravenholdt shows no recognition at all as she looks at Awatu.
Awatu-TwistingNether looks around, expecting to see another.
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: You want a supplicant, don't you?
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: Correct. A replacement for what was lost.
Kerala-Ravenholdt holds out her arms, as if to indicate herself.
Awatu-TwistingNether raises his eyebrow inquisitively at you.
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: You... are to be the new Supplicant?
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: I'll take off this cloak, and wear your colors. There is no way I would ask another to do this.
Awatu-TwistingNether frowns, almost with sincerity. "You make it sound as if you will be a prisoner."
Kerala-Ravenholdt eyes Awatu. "Won't I? I have not witnessed anything of the Grim to disprove my opinion that your guild is not a good one, and may even be evil."
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: Prove me wrong, if you wish.
Awatu-TwistingNether raises his snout, peering down it at Kerala. "I have nothing to prove to you. If you wish to tread the path of the Supplicant, you must prove yourself to me. To us."
Kerala-Ravenholdt meets Awatu's eyes, even over his nose. "I will do whatever a supplicant does. I'm all you get. The Blood Debt is paid, then?"
Awatu-TwistingNether lowers his gaze, eyeing Kerala closely, as if inspecting a dog or other animal. He considers for a moment, before speaking. "Yes."
Kerala-Ravenholdt nods once, then reaches up to unfasten her guild cloak.
Kerala-Ravenholdt drapes the cloak over her arm.
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: Alright then, I guess. I'm yours.
Awatu-TwistingNether motions towards the bazier near the Innkeeper. "Disavow yourself completely. Nothing will remain of this decision."
Kerala-Ravenholdt frowns, but walks over and tosses the cloak in.
Awatu-TwistingNether nods. "So be it."
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: A waste of a perfectly good cloak.
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: Ah, Syreena. Just in time.
[Syreena-TwistingNether]: Evening, Commander.
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: Welcome our newest Supplicant, Kerala. She wishes to walk our path, as a replacement for what was taken from us several moons ago.
Awatu-TwistingNether turns and walks towards a chest.
You look at Awatu-TwistingNether.
[Syreena-TwistingNether]: I...what? Kerala has joined us?
[Syreena-TwistingNether]: She doesn't even like us.
Awatu-TwistingNether produces a tabard. Smattered in blood and with a large gouge in the middle. It appears to be sized for a Tauren male.
Kerala-Ravenholdt blanches. Is that Konro's tabard?
Awatu-TwistingNether nods, as if answering her unsaid question. "It was not his to be buried with."
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: You didn't burn it?
Awatu-TwistingNether shakes his head. "It no longer belonged to him. He failed, as a Supplicant and as Grim."
Kerala-Ravenholdt frowns, but says nothing.
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: Perhaps we can teach her to like us.
[Syreena-TwistingNether]: ...perhaps before she squashes any more heads.
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: She is a Supplicant. Treat her as such. Your daggers and the Lasher's beatings may be the... necessary tools of her... reeducation.
Kerala-Ravenholdt raises a brow at the mention of beatings.
Awatu-TwistingNether smiles, almost calmly. "Only for those who fail to understand our ways."
[Syreena-TwistingNether]: As you wish, Commander. *dark amusement in her voice at that idea*
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: That will look ridiculous on me, if your intention is that I wear it.
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: A simple refitting and a little stitching will see it well-suited for yourself.
Kerala-Ravenholdt shrugs. Lomani is the seamstress, not her.
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: As a Supplicant, you have access to our wares and suppliers. You need not do everything yourself.
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: That's probably for the best, unless you want the most terrible stitching in creation. And I'm certain you don't.
Awatu-TwistingNether nods. "I am no artisan myself when it comes to the needle and thread. I suggest your report the Inquisitors."
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: Who are they?
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: They will likely be surprised by this, but it will not be unwelcome.
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: Khorvis Bloodstar is the High Inquisitor. He is known as "The Lasher", and for good reason. I suggest to stay on his good side.
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: Lilliana Bloodshine and Ruuki the Reborn are his subordinates. You may be familiar with them.
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: Mmm. I've already had a warning about good sides and bad from Lilliana. You all have those, I guess?
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: I believe everyone has a good and bad side. Some are just more prevalent than others at different times. Much like the blinking of Mu'sha.
Kerala-Ravenholdt blinks at Awatu. "I have two sides too, but not good or bad. Just inside and outside."
Awatu-TwistingNether shrugs. "Good and bad. Inside and out. There are many facets to life. We could spend many evenings on this subject."
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: Probably not.
Kerala-Ravenholdt holds out her hand for the tabard.
Awatu-TwistingNether gives Kerala a wry grin and hands the tabard over to her.
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: Is there anything else I should do right now?
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: Are you aware of our Mandate?
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: Peace through annihilation, I've heard.
Awatu-TwistingNether nods. "That is the standard we speak. There is more, hidden behind the words. I suggest you visit our archives and learn a little about it."
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: Is there reading involved? You may have noticed- I'm not fantastic at it.
Awatu-TwistingNether frowns slightly, but nods. "Seek the aid of our scribes in the repository. If necessary, they can read it to you."
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: Alright.
Awatu-TwistingNether nods. "Dismissed."
Kerala-Ravenholdt turns to go, muttering so that she'll remember. "inquisitor... mandate..."
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: Seek the Inquisitors for answers to your questions, Supplicant.
Kerala-Ravenholdt turns back around.
You nod at Awatu-TwistingNether.
[Awatu-TwistingNether]: Learn of our ways. The path we tread is not an easy path.
[Kerala-Ravenholdt]: And to sew the tabard.
Awatu-TwistingNether grins, almost with genuine mirth, and nods.
Kerala-Ravenholdt snorts at the 'easy' comment. Nothing is ever easy.
