The mage and hunter moved from within the arcane oval, a brown hound following quickly behind, stepping out into the bright sunlight. Jafyals pulled his hood further up over his face, shading his features from that light. His weight was balanced on the staff in his hands as he leaned down on it. Weary eyes regarded his young companion from withing tired features. "Well, boy, we are here. My obligation to my sister is done. The rest is upon you." The disdain in his voice was sharp enough to cut through flesh.
"Oh thank you, cousin," the younger elf retorted with sarcasm. "Why don't you go and dishonor the family name some more, and play with your little water fiend, hmmm? Twist the magic around you some more, perhaps." He snorted and then shrugged his shoulders to balance the weight of his bow on his back. "It truly is no wonder the family cast you out years ago."
The mage's eyes flashed with rage, but with an effort, he pushed it down. "And they are all dead now, Telivard,' he said matter of factly. "The whole family, and all their precious values." He sneered at the hunter. "You wish to follow them and their ways to oblivion, that is your own perogitive. But mark my words boy, speak to me like that again, and you will meet them sooner than you wish. Irregardless, I am done with you." He turned back to the portal.
"Go, and be a ranger like the rest of the dead fools. They, and you, matter little to me now." The mage's tone left no doubt on his feeling on that matter. He stepped through the gateway of energy, and it winked out.
Telivard watched him go, and then sniffed disdainfully. He turned, and walked quickly into the guild hall, his dog following. He looked around quickly, spying an open table. He moved to it, his steps assures, and laid a folded letter upon it. The blood elf left as quickly as he came.
Dearest Grim,
My name is Teivard Joe'luer. Like my family line before me, I aspire to be a great ranger. I will make their memory proud. There is great honor with you, and I have heard your exploits far and wide. I wish to be a apart of that, if you would have me. I can be of great service to you. My cousin, Jafylas, sponsers me.
- Teilvard Joe'luer
A portal slices through the air near the halls entrance.
