Added to members group, if there is anything else the Inquisitorial Team need to add you to - hassle them.

Re: Considering a return

I'm still around although real life dictates that I'm more casual now. There's a mini-Grainger in the world now, a spawn of two forsaken that takes up most of my and Syreena's time;) I did get your buddy request for tng but as it been so long since I've been there that I've completely forgotten my p...

Re: Okay math whizzes

I don't think its possible given your parameters. If you're filling 250mb per minute during load times and can have three logs files open then you need to switch every three minutes but it takes 5 mins to switch, i.e. doesn't work. If the switch time increases linearly with the log size the math doe...

Re: Brainstorming Needed (PC Repair)

Auto, rapid power off like that suggests something is tripping the thermal sensors or the PSU is toast. No silver paste is a REALLY BAD THING (tm). Unless you lapped the cpu and the heat sink/fan your thermal conductivity is crap without it - like stuff is going to melt crap !! (That's probably why ...

Re: I am a happy Kailei!!!

Remember too, if you have a new video card to enable DX11 in the WoW settings. It pushes the new cards far less while maintaining the same quality.

(Diablo is still DX9 and my cards run 2 - 3 degrees C hotter in Diablo than in WoW. Its a water cooled setup so 3 degrees is really noticeable :) )

Re: Help!! (Keyboard I MIGHT get need suggestions)

The part that is against the ToS is using the G keys to setup macros that imitate multiple key strokes. When building G-Macros you can put in pauses that wait for the gcd in wow. Say, for example, your opening sequence of casts is key bound to 1,2,3,4. A regular wow macro with those four spells requ...

Re: Build me a computer

Using the 3 or 6 month old recommendations from Ars or Tomshardware is a great way to get a cheap machine that does everything you need. I'd also keep an eye on NewEgg for the build yourself PC deals they do they. I started with one of those for my base build and then just added more goodies that I ...

Re: LINUX - Memory

You're pushing 3.6G on a 32 bit system. That's nasty, nasty, nasty. The default user/kernel split will be 3G/1G. I'm assuming that you've tweaked that to at least try to squeeze the kernel into 0.4GB. Even so: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b32009/appi_vlm.htm is about the b...

If you don't know the answer to this you've got shitty OEM fans. Order some decent ones where you know the specs.

Re: Temperature Sensors

For the GPU's just put the sensor on the water block and use a good amount of thermal paste to get good heat conduction. The sensor will read about 5c below the GPU temp. GPU-Z is your friend though - it'll tell you everything from all the sensors on the gpu and they'll be at least 3 and probably mo...

HDMI or Display Port are the way to go. For a given definition of HDMI. Even 1.3 and 1.4 only have so much bandwidth. They will push 2560x1600x60 fps (1.0->1.2 won't even do that) but you can't get much more fps out of the spec, its just too much data for it. Display Port >>> Dual-Link DVI >>> HDMI

Yeah, its sad. I monitor the two 5870's and they're only being pushed to half max clock speed with WoW.
