It's Going to be a Long Road Home
"I can't believe you lost my axe, Khorull." "It's not my fault the flying machine crashed in Mac'Aree. Your axe is back on Argus. You want it, go get it." Khorshah dodged the massive claw of bone, turned, and slammed both of his blades into the wrist of the skeletal dragon that h...

A letter that was clearly meant for someone else
A bloodstained piece of parchment has had several parts blacked out with words written in a different hand: Grim, ░░░░░░░░ Khelendra has greatly impressed me with ░░░ her ruthlessness and skill fighting the Alliance and the Legion. I remain occupied elsewhere; until my return, use h░░ er to continue...

A raven with a message tied to its leg
The raven hangs around until someone takes the paper, then flaps away. Grim, Years ago my brother, Khorshah, fought alongside you and upheld the Mandate. In the wake of Sylvanas' actions in Darnassus, it is more clear than ever that the Alliance's time is done. I would help assist in their downfall...

Dwarf Fortress Succession Game
Spring, 2001 We have arrived at our <strike>tropical</strike> <strike>temperate</strike> fucking cold new home. It's in the middle of a forest. There's not even so much as a hill in sight. Everything here is frozen, covered in snow, or frozen and covered in snow. I've told the other six to get digg...

An axe that flickers with a cold blue flame
The engine of the flying machine made a rattling, wheezing noise as the troll brought it to a landing near a simple hut on the slopes of Hyjal. Its pilot dismounted, looking around warily as the contraption spun down. "You call me, dead man?" A bulky shape moved within the hut, an armored ...

Re: 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons Magic Spells
So tell me "No aggro table" guy... my rogue spent alot of time to the side and rear of things attacking and doing quite a lot of damage. Yet the mob oh so rarely ever got a chance to turn around and try and kill me... Weird. No aggro table though. The mob just wanted to keep wailing on th...

Re: 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons Magic Spells
I play GURPS. because the Hero system is too daunting for me and I think that four stats and exponentially scaling costs of abilities is the way to go. Fixed that for you there. *caveat - I left GURPS for Hero System a long time ago, it may very well have improved. They do do an excellent job, bett...

Re: 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons Magic Spells
Yes 4th edition does not have elite mobs. Of course not. Never said it didn't. The Minion / Elite / Boss division has been around since before WoW, and appears in other pen and paper games (Savage Worlds, GURPS Dungeon Fantasy) as well - both of which predate 4e, I might add. The D&D designers...

Re: 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons Magic Spells
My down side to the high level playtest we did this weekend was that everyone and there mother can teleport at high levels and that the status effects are just rampant. Erz did roll like crap though heh. The game play is pretty insane at the epic levels, particularly 'at 30'; characters are kind o...
