Grim Raiding (8/20/09)
Although we are primarily a role playing guild, we recognize raiding is the main attraction for many players, and we are determined to see as much of the game as possible while still maintaining our role playing integrity. Currently, we are making steady progress into 25-Man Trial of the Crusader
1. Commitment to raiding
This doesn't mean 6 nights a week, 4 hours a night. It means that you make the same commitments each week to your availability and you show up. Weekly there is a sign-up list on the forums. Since we understand that schedules can change from week to week, simply state what days you can or cannot make the raid, and if you might be a few minutes late or anything of that sort. If you are a raider and online at the time of attunement (gathering), you will be expected to make yourself available to the guild for the raid.
2. Research
You will be expected to read up on encounters and strategies, and know your class inside out. Raid settings are not the time to discover the best way to use your skills, neither are they the time to find out what abilities the mobs have that we will be facing. You should already know this or be working with your class authority to improve.
3. Specifications & Stats
The minimum requirements (unbuffed) for the follow classes are:
Everyone
- A raid oriented spec.
- Gems, glyphs, and enchants acceptable for your gear and spec. This includes shoulder and head enchants from the Sons of Hodir (Honored and Exalted) and tabard factions respectively. (Argent Crusade - Vanguard, Kirin Tor - Caster Damage, Knights of the Ebon Blade - Physical Damage, Wyrmrest Accord - Healers). All need Revered reputation.
- Specific stats and numbers to shoot for have become more specialized by class since Burning Crusade. If you have any questions, see your class authority as they answer to the Raid Leader about who is ready, who isn't, and why. Checking websites such as
http://elitistjerks.com/ is also useful.
4. Consumables
Everyone is expected to bring enough consumables for each night of raiding. You should have either a flask or a guardian and battle elixir active at all times. You should have food providing buffs suitable to your role, do not rely on Fish Feasts. Potions have changed with the launch of Wrath of the Lich King; with the implementation of the ‘one pot per fight’ rule, they’ve become more optional. However, it would certainly behoove you to carry some on your person just in case.
5. Mods
UI Mods will be required. You will need Omen and either BigWigs or DeadlyBossMods. Logs will be posted here after each night of raiding.
Recount is highly recommended for reviewing your performance for the night to identify areas for improvement. Other mods may be required on a class/role basis, e.g. DotTimer for Warlocks.
6. Voice Comms
Listening to voice comms is a mandatory requirement. We use Mumble. You can find a page on how to set up your client here on our
mumble setup page.
7. Current Schedule
We raid 25-man content 2 days a week: Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30PM - 10:30PM Server Time (Central Standard Time). We also have two 10 man teams formed and are trying to get a third going. Please keep a lookout on the forums to watch for signup sheets for other raids.
